sarinda
chordophone / bowed string instrument (India / Asia)
The sarinda is a stringed Indian folk musical instrument.
It is played with a bow and has between ten and thirty strings.
The bottom part of the front of its hollow soundbox is covered with animal skin.
The sarinda seems to have its origin in tribal bowed instruments called dhodro banam .
